Great Barrington — A man in a grey hoodie and no weapon robbed Salisbury Bank at 210 Main Street today (Monday, February 13).
No one was hurt.
Great Barrington Police Chief William Walsh told The Edge this evening the department was still piecing together the events that started when the man, also wearing sunglasses, walked into the bank at about 3:30 p.m., passed the teller a note, and left with a “small amount of money.”

GBPD Sergeant Adam Carlotto said he left, possibly with a getaway suspect who was waiting for him in the getaway vehicle, a “red compact,” that headed southbound on Route 7.
Walsh said the suspect was described as a white male late twenties or early thirties, between 5’7″ and 5’9″ “with a thin build, weighing around 150 pounds.”
At around 5 p.m. the GBPD were still inside the bank investigating what Carlotto said was an “isolated incident,” and that “the public is not at risk.”
The Massachusetts State Police are helping with the investigation.
If anyone saw anything suspicious in the area, they are urged to call Great Barrington Police at 413-528-0306.
The Edge will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
